TIMOTHY J. BUCKLEY III

Upon graduation from law school, Tim accepted a federal clerkship with The Honorable Wilbur D. Owens, Jr., Chief Judge for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia. After completing his clerkship, Tim worked with two litigation firms in Atlanta. He is AV rated as a trial attorney and has argued appellate matters before the appellate courts of the State of Georgia and other states and before the appellate courts of the Second, Eleventh and Federal Circuit Courts of Appeal for the United States. Tim has written several articles in the litigation area and has served as a featured speaker on governmental and civil liability issues and for the Georgia Product Liability Institute. A federal court appointed panel arbitrator and practitioner, Tim has handled several complex arbitrations in the federal and state systems. Tim also serves as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Georgia and has taught litigation courses at the Emory University School of Law for over fifteen years. Tim has been recently named a “Super Lawyer” and designated as among the “Top Georgia Lawyers.”

Tim has served on the Board of the Litigation Section of the Atlanta Bar Association. He is also a member of the executive committee for the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council of Atlanta, serves on the Finance Council of his church, has chaired the School Advisory Board at Immaculate Heart of Mary School, and is a past chair of the Pastoral Council for IHM Church. Tim is also involved in mission work for Mustard Seed Communities in Kingston, Jamaica and believes that community service is a critical aspect of his public duty.

Denny has also worked in the corporate finance departments of an investment bank and consulting firm, where he was involved in the execution of a variety of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, public offerings and private placements.

TRACY K. (TK) HAFF

T.K. is a partner at Buckley Brown and heads up the firm’s employment law practice. Specifically, T.K. represents national, regional and Georgia employers in a wide variety of employment-related matters, including discrimination and harassment cases, restrictive covenant disputes, wage and hour law matters, and workers’ compensation claims. She also represents governmental entities and national, regional, and Georgia companies in general liability claims. T.K. is admitted to all state and federal districts in Georgia.

Enhancing her litigation practice, T.K. provides day-to-day advice and counsel to employers regarding the laws that govern and affect the employment relationship, with special emphasis on training and litigation avoidance strategies.

T.K. is an active member of the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers and is a graduate of the GAWL 2011 Leadership Academy. She is also a member of the Cobb County and Atlanta Bar Associations.

T.K. is an active member of East Cobb United Methodist Church, where she serves on several committees and teaches Sunday School, and the East Valley Elementary School Foundation. She enjoys cheering for the Clemson Tigers, Atlanta Braves, and New York Giants, reading, and playing tennis.

TAYLOR W. HENSEL

At Buckley Brown, Taylor practices in the areas of general civil litigation, governmental/municipal liability, and workers’ compensation.

Specifically, Taylor defends governmental entities and employers in all claims, including personal injury; property damage; Title VII race, gender, retaliation, and religious discrimination; 42 U.S .C. § 1981; 42 U.S.C § 1983 (claims brought under the 1st, 4th, 5th, 8th, and 14th Amendments to the United States Constitution); the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (“ADEA”); the Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”); and the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”), along with various state law tort claims and claims of state constitutional deprivation.

Within workers’ compensation law, Taylor provides human resource managers, safety directors, claims adjusters, and third-party administrators with the tools and know-how to close claims efficiently and swiftly and, above all, minimize exposure.

Taylor also has significant experience in general civil litigation, having represented companies and insurers across Georgia in commercial disputes, personal injury and product liability claims, coverage disputes, and claims under uninsured motorist policies.

In his free time, Taylor serves as the attorney coach for a high school mock trial team in Decatur.

ROBERT C. SEMLER

Bob began his trial and administrative law practice in 1975. He has handled a wide variety of civil litigation and tort cases including premises liability, assaults, personal injury and wrongful death claims representing retailers, the trucking industry, nursing homes, primary and excess insurers and their insureds. He has tried more than 100 jury cases to verdict.

In the construction arena, Bob regularly represents general contractors and subcontractors for defect claims involving residential and small commercial developments.

In the Workers’ Compensation field, he has represented employers and insureds for more than 20 years. In that time, he has tried hundreds of cases before administrative law judges across the state.

Bob has been active in bar related activities, appearing as a speaker at annual meetings. He has been a Board Member and is Past-Chair of the Atlanta Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Section. Bob has been selected as a Georgia Super Lawyer several times. Before joining Buckley Brown, Bob practiced at Carlock, Copeland, Semler & Stair, LLP for nearly 33 years.
